I Die Friday: these boots and some great news

I know it sometimes seems that all I talk about are short boots but it's my blog, I border on dangerously obsessed with them, and I can do what I want. OMG I can't stop looking at these. Want so bad.

Also I've got great news! I'm the new Fashion Coordinator for Agyness Deyn and Fiona Byrne's online magazine naag.com!! I'll be writing much of the fashion content for the site, coordinating the editorial photo shoots, and covering New York Fashion Week. I'm OVER THE MOON excited about this opportunity- Agyness has been a style icon of mine for years and to work with her and Fiona's awesome publication is an honor. I hope you'll check naag.com out. I'll start sharing my posts with you as soon as they come out! I die. Really.

I Die Friday: things I want so badly it might kill me

A little interpretive take on the red, white and blue theme that's going on all over the blogosphere right now. I think it goes hand and hand with the country Western theme that's also pretty popular, so I threw in some western elements like these short boots and a feminine cowboy hat.  I'm actually really purchasing these short boots- I finally decided on a pair! They're on the way in the mail right now. Pretty excited. Happy I Die Friday!

Get You Some Short Boots, Shorty!

Rag & Bone Harrow Boots

I've been in the market for a pair of short boots.  I love their comfort, durability, and the fact that they don't cut my short little legs off mid-calf as my Frye's do, instead they hit at a more flattering mid-ankle point.  A good pair of these boots can be a little pricey (most in the $500 range) but they give you the height of a heel and don't wear down quickly, so you can wear them day after day and they just get more comfortable and broken in (in a good way) and they don't fall apart. I am a super hard monster on my shoes and have a hard time not breaking heels off completely, so these seem like an especially good option!

I think I'm going to opt for a black pair to start- maybe the Acne Pistol - but I also really like the idea of the lighter more springy colors of nude or faded apricot.  I like the wedge versions too: the cork sole is interesting in the Acne Hydro Lea Wedge and the Maison Martin Margiela MM6 is made of canvas rather than leather, which is a cool detail that could be great for spring! Whichever you choose: Get you some short boots SHORTY!
