As in the past million fashion seasons, stripes are still here. But stripes are a classic trend that will always come and go- remember Audrey Hepburn in her boat neck striped- T? Thanks to Wes Anderson, the striped t-shirt fad returned full force to the 21st centry via the Royal Tenenbaums, albeit ironically. But when the Kardashians start wearing something as a staple, you know the fad is probably no longer ironic and DEFINITELY past it's prime. The Kardashian family as a whole has overused the "striped T's under a boyfriend blazer" gig to such an extent that they've beaten this once cute look to a bloody pulp for at least the next few years. Fortunately designers are finally finding more uses for stripes this past Spring 2011 runway season, mixing and matching horizontal and vertical stripes and moving them from the torso to the toes. Check out the adorbs Tabitha Simmons sneakers (top) and chic Christian Louboutin booties (2nd from bottom). I threw in the neat tote and the bottom image because they reminded me that there is something so zen and architecturally right about lines...
